Soccer Team Loses 2-0 to Howard

Lady Bulldogs Drop to 2-2 in Great West Conference

Coach Glad Bugariu

ORANGEBURG, SC – The SC State soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Howard Sunday (Oct. 18) in a Great West Conference match at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. The loss dropped Coach Glad Bugariu's team to 8-6-1 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

The visiting Lady Bison got goals from Cynthia Snyder and Rachel Lee in improving to 3-7-2 overall and 3-1 in the GWC.

Howard had 15 shots to 11 for SC State, which was led by Brook Ehinger with four shots.

The Lady Bulldogs' Bugariu was disappointed with the loss but noted that his team still had some attainable goals.

“It was a disappointing loss,” Bugariu said. “Howard came in and played a fantastic match. They deserve to win and are now in control of the East Region of our conference. It (the GWC East Region) is theirs to win.

“But, what we (the Lady Bulldogs) need to do now is concentrate on getting the highest seed in the tournament (which begins Nov. 5th) and finishing off SC State's first winning season. That's our goals now.”

Glad's team returns to action next Sunday (Oct. 25) when it hosts Delaware State in a GWC match at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
