Newark, NJ – A historic soccer season at South Carolina State ended Friday with a 2-1 lost to Houston Baptist in first-round action of the Great West Conference Soccer Championship at NJIT. Second-year head coach Glad Bugariu’s team finished the year 10-7-3.

Orangeburg, SC—The SC State women’s soccer team concluded its record-breaking 2009 regular season with a 0-0 tie versus VMI. The contest, which was contested at the Oliver C. Dawson Stadium, was senior day for the Lady Bulldogs.
The contest marked the fourth overtime campaign of the season for Coach Glad Bugariu’s team which is undefeated in extra-period matches with a 1-0-3 mark.

Montreat, NC—The SC State women’s soccer team recorded its sixth shut-out of the season as they defeated Montreat College, 3-0, in a non-conference match-up. With the victory, the Lady Bulldogs assured themselves a winning season for the first time in the history of the program.
Junior midfielder Bahja Peeples led the offensive attacks for SC State, as she scored two goals for four points to help the Lady Bulldogs improve to 9-6-2 on the season.
